“ The film unflinchingly documents this unsettling family story through its calm, controlled and precise photography. It looks directly into the unsolvable dilemma at the heart of the relationship between the father and son. The film language is mature and shows a filmmaker whose aesthetics reach beyond simple categorization. “–Statement of the Jury

Li-Fu is a 30-year-old man with autism trapped inside the jumbled confusion of his child-like mind. His life is held together by his father, his only friend, who is forced to play many roles to build a bridge connecting his son to the outside world. It is a task that conjures images of Sisyphus, the mythological Greek king doomed to pushing an immense boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, over and over for eternity. Through the banalities of their everyday lives, this film explores a father’s unconditional love for his autistic son, the cruel nature of devotion, and a lifelong sacrifice that can never be abandoned.
