PTS and SCSPR Guatemala Hold Joint Video Conference, Pave Way For Future Cooperation


On May 5th ,PTS hosted a video conference on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), engaging in discussion with Guatemala’s Secretaría de Comunicación Social de la Presidencia (SCSPR) on the subject of public television criteria and values.





The Taiwanese party was represented by PTS’ Acting President Cindy Shyu, R&D Department senior research fellow Chi-Long Lin, News Department director Tony Su, International Department Director Wuan-Ling Guo, New Media Department supervisor Yang Lee, Professor Chi-Shen Ho, Professor Chi-Hui Chung, and representatives from MOFA.





Representing the Guatemala side were Ambassador and Secretary of the Taiwanese Embassy in Guatemala Mateo Chang, SCSPR Director Patricia Letona, Vice Director Maricela Herrera, Production Department Director Romeo León, Press Consultant Erick Salazar, and Digital Communication Consultant Daniela Palomo.


After listening to the explanation and analysis of public television values by the Taiwanese personnel, the SCSPR mainly furthered discussion on the differences between public television and national television, while also understanding the sources of funding for Taiwan’s public television. The SCSPR expressed gratitude for the precious insight PTS provided, stating they had gained more than expected. The conference thus ended on a good note, with the SCSPR reconfirming the international friendship between Guatemala and Taiwan, and promising to keep touch in the future.
